The Sleepwalkers Group Project

The Sleepwalkers was a concept we created for a Group Project in College. Me, Mikey Scudamore, Kalina Watson and Alfie Macdonald each created an original character for this world. Our deliverables were for a Graphic Novel aimed at young teens. Our goal was to blend various art styles to depict a dreamscape world. Each of the five main characters had a unique art style, and dream world that influenced their design. The Character I created was a tanky barbarian woman named Valrik, she is hotheaded and aggressive, loving nothing more than to throw herself into battle. I chose to draw her in a comic-like style.
These characters were real people (portrayed as their Dream- sonas) trapped together in a dream world. The story follows the four characters’ journey to escape a Dreamscape created by a lonely young girl who wants them to stay and play with her forever, she is able to control everything in her Dreamscape, including the shadow teddy bear in the background of our comic cover. Unless the four protagonists make their way out before sunrise they will be imprisoned there for eternity.
